4 things to consider in outdoor laundry room
Most condo dwellers in the Philippines have their bathrooms double up as their laundry. Either they do not have any other place to launder or they simply like doing their laundry in the bathroom. For condo units that do have that extra balcony space, the first and designing the laundry is off the essence. We would show you 4 things to consider in outdoor laundry room. It must be designed in such a way that doing the laundry on your balcony is both convenient and practical. In repurposing your balcony, here are:
4 things to consider in outdoor laundry room.
- Water Source – make sure that your balcony has access to a water source. Otherwise, you might be forced to purchase a garden hose. You wouldn’t want your garden hose running through your condo unit. With a garden hose is you run the chance of getting water all over your room, or on your furniture.
- Water drain – one thing that is definitely needed is a water drain. Most balcony designs have water drains designed into them. If this is so, we can go ahead with using the balcony. If not, I am sorry but we have to scratch this project. The washing machine needs a good drainage wherein to dump all that water and soap into. A word of caution, when using balcony drains, always make it a point to clean the filter of lint. In some cases, lint escaping from your washing machine may contribute to the water drain clogging up.
- Washing machine model – In a condo setting, a washing machine that is front-loading is more favorable than a top-loading one. This is because of the limited space. In some super cramped balconies, you would need the extra space on top of the washing machine.
- Drying Area – ample drying area is also required. This is area needs to have ample sunlight for clothes to dry.
